Plan a visit
Hebrews 10:24, 25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
What To Expect
Visiting any church for the first time can make a person nervous. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What are the people like? What can I expect?
Please be assured we count it a privilege to have you as our guest. When you enter the building you will be greeted by the Pastor or one of our members. That person can answer any questions you may have and help you find restrooms, nurseries, and classrooms. Our goal is for you to be comfortable in our services and to treat you as we would wish to be treated.
Location
You may be aware of Temple Baptist Church’s recent decision to sell our church property to the Hershorin Schiff Community Day School. The new owners have made a number of changes to the property including two new classroom buildings and additional parking along with an increased level of security. As a part of the sales agreement our congregation will continue to meet here while we look for a suitable home to which we will relocate. Therefore, you will find we are continuing to worship in the same place as we have for the past decades.
Typical Attire
Our Pastor, as well as many of our church family, wear the traditional “Sunday best.” However, we want you to be comfortable for your visit and simply ask you to dress in a manner appropriate for worship. Men generally wear slacks with a dress shirt, often with a tie and ladies wear modest dresses or a skirt-blouse combination.
Sunday Morning Service
In this service, you will be blessed by the enthusiastic congregational singing and God-honoring special music. The music is always followed by a clear and helpful Bible message (sermon). The sermons at TBC are Biblical, relevant, challenging, and encouraging. Themes such as the home, problems we face, God’s blessings, and reaching our potential for Christ will help you face the daily challenges encountered along life’s way.
We do recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow for parking and seating.
An offering will be received during the Sunday morning service. However, as our guest, you need not feel obligated to participate in the offering. We would like your time here to be a blessing void of any pressure during your visit.
Sunday Evening Service
This service is different from the morning service but follows a similar format. In addition to congregational singing, special music, and a practical message from God’s Word, we share testimonies of what God is doing in our lives, hear updates about mission work around the world, and more.
Now that you’ve learned a little bit about our church, we hope you will visit with us this week. We look forward to meeting you and your family!
